Brian Birdy
With over 30 years of experience in sales, Brian Birdy is a certified building fire risk assessor with extensive knowledge of fire fighting systems. Throughout his career, he has successfully secured substantial government and private contracts.
Brian has played a pivotal role in expanding our firestopping business by introducing innovative products and services. His initiatives include the development of training courses that certify our technicians in kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and fire alarm systems. Additionally, Brian is responsible for contract development and has implemented a comprehensive Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) program, offering all services under a single account for each client. Utilising the latest CRM software, Brian optimises our fire protection, mechanical, and plumbing services to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Noel O’Leary
Noel is the Contracts and Office General Manager, who is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the mechanical and plumbing industries, complemented by 5 years of specialised experience in fireproofing. He holds a degree in business and is a qualified plumber. In his role as Contracts and Office General Manager, Noel oversees the daily operations of the company and has successfully secured substantial fireproofing contracts across Ireland.
In addition to managing operational efficiency, Noel is responsible for human resources functions, including the training of apprentices and recruitment activities. He ensures that office operations run smoothly and that contract claims are submitted in a timely manner.

Declan and David had the foresight to establish a fireproofing company that would complement their existing mechanical services firm.
David Dinneny
Technical Director
David Dinneny serves as the Technical Director of both Ashgrove FireProofing Limited and Ashgrove Mechanical Services Limited, bringing over 20 years of industry experience to the table. Under his leadership, both companies have seen significant growth through the implementation of customer relationship management systems and streamlined processes aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing costs while attracting new clientele.
David’s engineering degree, coupled with his extensive expertise in the mechanical and fireproofing sectors, has been instrumental in driving the success of the company.
Declan Gilsenan
Managing Director
Declan brings over 35 years of extensive experience in the business sector to his role as Managing Director. He began his career as a plumber, dedicating 15 years to honing his technical skills in various environments, including oil and gas heating systems, plumbing for hospitals, schools, and factories. This practical experience laid the groundwork for his entrepreneurial journey when he co-founded Ashgrove with David.
Declan possesses a profound understanding of the firestopping trade, as well as expertise in the mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing industries. His leadership has been instrumental in the rapid growth of our fireproofing company, where he oversees a team of over 50 employees. Declan actively engages in site meetings and inspections each week, maintaining a hands-on approach to client relations and business development.
